Terms of Service

Last updated: June 28, 2026 (v4)

  1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Bontro ("the platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users, including service professionals ("Pros") and clients who book appointments.

  1. Description of Service

Bontro provides appointment scheduling software that allows independent service professionals to accept bookings and payments from clients. Bontro is a software platform only. We are not a party to any service agreement between a Pro and their client, and we do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any Pro listed on the platform.

  1. Account Registration

To use Bontro you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

  1. Subscription Plans and Billing

Bontro offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

  • Starter: free, up to 35 bookings per month.
  • Growth: $19/month or $190/year.
  • Business: $49/month or $490/year.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Settings -> Billing. Your plan remains active through the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods except where required by law.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Founding Pro pricing is locked for the duration of the agreed term.

  1. Payments and Stripe Connect

Payment processing is provided by Stripe. Pros must connect a Stripe account to collect payments through Bontro. By connecting Stripe, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service (https://stripe.com/legal).

Bontro does not take a commission on bookings. Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per successful transaction. All other payment amounts go directly to the Pro's Stripe account.

Bontro is not responsible for payment disputes, chargebacks, or failed payments between Pros and clients. These are handled directly through Stripe.

  1. Cancellation Fees and Card on File

Pros may configure cancellation policies and require clients to save a card on file at booking. By providing a card at booking, clients consent to being charged a cancellation or no-show fee in accordance with the Pro's stated policy.

Bontro provides the infrastructure for card-on-file and cancellation fee charging but is not responsible for disputes between Pros and clients regarding fee amounts or circumstances.

  1. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
  • Attempt to access accounts or data that do not belong to you.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform without permission.
  • Use the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam).
  • Interfere with the operation of the platform.
  1. Content and Reviews

Clients may leave reviews for completed appointments. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these terms.

Pros on Growth and Business plans may respond to and moderate reviews within the limits described in our Help Center. Pros may not create fake reviews or offer incentives for positive reviews.

  1. SMS Communications

By providing a phone number and opting in to SMS at the time of booking, you consent to receive appointment-related text messages from Bontro and the Pro you booked with. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to SMS is not a condition of booking.

  1. Intellectual Property

Bontro and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Bontro and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

  1. Disclaimers

Bontro is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Bontro does not vet, certify, or guarantee any Pro listed on the platform. Clients are responsible for evaluating Pros before booking. Bontro is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of services provided by Pros.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bontro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

  1. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings, or by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is deleted, what is anonymized, and how long certain records are retained.

  1. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.

  1. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of Bontro after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

  1. Contact

Questions about these terms can be directed to support@bontro.co.

  1. Gift Cards

17.1 Issuance and Redemption. Gift cards available through Bontro are issued by individual service professionals ("Pros") and funded directly to each Pro's connected Stripe account at the time of purchase. A gift card is valid only for services offered by the specific Pro from whom it was purchased; it is not transferable across Pros or redeemable for cash.

17.2 Bontro's Role. Bontro provides the technical infrastructure for gift card issuance and redemption. Bontro is not the seller, issuer, or guarantor of any gift card. The contractual relationship regarding a gift card is solely between the purchaser (or recipient) and the issuing Pro.

17.3 No Expiration. Gift cards issued through Bontro do not expire. Remaining balances are preserved indefinitely unless the card is voided pursuant to Section 17.5.

17.4 Non-Cash Redemption. Gift cards may only be applied toward booking services with the issuing Pro. Gift cards have no cash value and may not be exchanged for cash, store credit, or other gift cards.

17.5 Voids and Refunds. A Pro may void an unused or partially used gift card at any time, which will trigger an automatic refund of the remaining balance to the original purchaser's payment method via Stripe. Bontro may also initiate a void and refund in cases of fraud, dispute, or platform policy violation. Refunds are processed by Stripe and subject to Stripe's standard timelines.

17.6 Pro Account Termination. If a Pro's Bontro account is suspended or terminated for any reason, any outstanding gift cards attributable to that Pro become the sole liability of the Pro. Bontro will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify affected purchasers and facilitate refunds where technically possible, but Bontro does not guarantee payment to gift card holders in the event of Pro insolvency or account closure and is not liable for any loss resulting from a Pro's failure to honor a gift card.

17.7 Fraud and Velocity Controls. Bontro monitors gift card sales for unusual volume or patterns indicative of fraud or money laundering. Bontro reserves the right to temporarily suspend gift card functionality for a Pro's account pending review, and to permanently disable it if fraud is confirmed. Suspicious activity may be reported to applicable law enforcement authorities.

17.8 Pro Acceptance. Pros must separately accept Bontro's Gift Card Terms of Service within the dashboard before activating gift card functionality. Those terms are incorporated by reference into these Terms of Service.

  1. Session Packages

18.1 Issuance and Redemption. Session packages available through Bontro allow clients to prepay for a set number of appointments with a specific Pro. Packages are issued by individual Pros and funded directly to each Pro's connected Stripe account at the time of purchase. A package is valid only for services offered by the specific Pro from whom it was purchased and is not transferable across Pros or redeemable for cash.

18.2 Bontro's Role. Bontro provides the technical infrastructure for package issuance, session tracking, and redemption. Bontro is not the seller, issuer, or guarantor of any session package. The contractual relationship is solely between the purchaser and the issuing Pro.

18.3 Session Credits. Each session redeemed against a package reduces the remaining credit balance. The Pro's dashboard displays remaining sessions for each issued package. Bontro's records are authoritative in the event of a dispute.

18.4 Expiration. Package expiration terms are set by the issuing Pro and disclosed at the time of purchase. Bontro is not responsible for sessions that expire due to the Pro's configured expiration policy.

18.5 Voids and Refunds. A Pro may void an unused or partially used package at any time, which will trigger an automatic refund of the remaining session value to the original purchaser via Stripe. Bontro may also initiate a void in cases of fraud or platform policy violation.

18.6 Pro Account Termination. If a Pro's account is suspended or terminated, outstanding package credits become the sole liability of the Pro. Bontro will make commercially reasonable efforts to notify affected purchasers but does not guarantee redemption or refund in the event of Pro insolvency or closure.

18.7 Pro Acceptance. Pros must separately accept Bontro's Session Package Terms of Service within the dashboard before activating package functionality. Those terms are incorporated by reference into these Terms of Service.

  1. Digital Consent Forms

19.1 Pro Responsibility. Pros may configure digital consent forms that clients must sign before an appointment. The content, accuracy, and legal sufficiency of any consent form is solely the Pro's responsibility. Bontro provides the collection and storage infrastructure only.

19.2 Data Collected. When a client completes a consent form, Bontro collects the following on the Pro's behalf: date of birth, known allergies, relevant medical conditions, age confirmation (18+), photo consent preference, typed or drawn signature, and signing timestamp. An anonymized IP address (last octet masked) is also recorded for fraud prevention. This data is classified as sensitive health information and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

19.3 Storage and Access. Signed consent records are stored securely and accessible to the Pro through their dashboard. Clients may request a copy by contacting the Pro directly.

19.4 No Legal Advice. Bontro does not review consent form content for legal sufficiency and does not provide legal advice. Pros should consult a qualified attorney to ensure their consent forms comply with applicable law.

  1. Mobile Application

20.1 Availability. Bontro offers a native mobile application ("the App") for iOS and Android. The App is subject to these Terms of Service in addition to the terms of the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

20.2 Location Data. The App may request access to your device's location to provide proximity-based search results. Location access is optional; declining does not prevent you from using the booking features of the App. Location data is used only to surface nearby professionals and is not sold or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

20.3 Push Notifications. The App may send push notifications for appointment reminders, booking confirmations, payment receipts, and other account activity. You may opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings without affecting your ability to use the App.

20.4 Device Permissions. The App may request access to device features necessary for its core functionality (camera for profile photos, contacts for autofill). You may deny any permission; core booking and payment features will remain available.

20.5 App Store Terms. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms of Service and have no responsibility for the App or its content. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the applicable app store's terms, the app store's terms govern solely with respect to your relationship with that store.

  1. Analytics and Product Improvement

Bontro uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to collect usage data and improve the platform. By using Bontro, you consent to the collection of pseudonymous usage events, page views, and feature interactions for internal product analytics purposes. This data is not sold to third parties and is not used for advertising. For full details on what is collected and how it is handled, see our Privacy Policy.

  1. Comparative Advertising; Third-Party Trademarks

Bontro may publish content comparing Bontro to other companies' products or services, including by referencing their names, trademarks, or publicly available pricing and feature information. Such comparisons are based on publicly available information at the time of publication, are provided for general informational purposes only, are not sponsored by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any referenced third party, and may not reflect subsequent changes to a third party's pricing, features, or policies. All trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced are the property of their respective owners.
