Order-type services — custom products and commissions

Set up services for custom cakes, artwork, clothing, and other take-home products.

Order-type services let clients place a custom order request with an event date instead of booking a time slot on your calendar. Perfect for custom bakers, artists, clothing designers, and anyone who makes something to deliver.

What's different from an appointment: - The client picks an event date (the date they need the product) — not a specific time slot - The order does not block your calendar like an appointment - You work through a production status pipeline: Inquiry → Approved → In Production → Ready → Delivered / Picked Up - You can collect a deposit at booking and charge the remaining balance from the dashboard when the order is ready

Setting up an order service: 1. Go to Dashboard → Services → New Service (or edit an existing one) 2. Set Service type to Order 3. Set Lead time (days) — the minimum number of days before the event date that clients must place an order. For example, a 7-day lead time means the client cannot pick an event date less than 7 days from today. Set to 0 for no restriction. 4. Set Delivery — toggle on if you offer delivery in addition to pickup. Clients will be able to choose pickup or delivery and enter a delivery address. 5. Add Order intake questions — custom questions clients fill out when placing the order (flavor, size, dietary restrictions, design notes, etc.). Mark questions as required if they are essential. 6. Set a deposit if you require one at booking (recommended for custom orders)

Managing orders from the dashboard: 1. Go to Dashboard → Appointments 2. Order bookings show an orange Order Status badge (e.g. "Inquiry", "Approved", "In Production") 3. Click the list item to expand it — you'll see an Order Details panel with the client's answers, delivery preference, and a status dropdown 4. Use the Status dropdown to move the order through production stages 5. Once the order is ready and you've collected the remaining balance (if any), mark it as Delivered or Picked Up

Charging the remaining balance: If you set a deposit at booking, the remaining balance is stored on the order automatically. When you're ready to collect it: 1. Expand the order in your Appointments dashboard 2. Click Charge remaining balance — this charges the client's saved card on file - The client must have a card saved (set when they paid the deposit) - You can also send a payment request link to collect manually
