Service types — appointment, class, order, virtual
Choose the right type for each service you offer.
Every service in Bontro has a service type that describes how it works. The type shows as a badge on your service list and signals to clients what kind of interaction to expect.
Appointment (default) A time-blocked, one-on-one session. The client picks a date and time, it appears on your calendar, and you both show up at that time. Use this for haircuts, massages, lash fills, consultations, etc.
Class A group session with a fixed capacity. Multiple clients can book the same time slot (up to the group capacity you set). Use this for fitness classes, workshops, group lessons, etc. Pair with the "Group class" option enabled on the service.
Order A custom product or commission where the client places a request rather than booking a time slot. The client picks an event date (not a time slot), fills out your order intake form, and chooses pickup or delivery if you offer it. You manage the order through production stages from your dashboard. Use this for custom cakes, commissioned artwork, custom clothing, or any take-home product.
Virtual A remote session delivered by video call, phone, or messaging. Works like an appointment (time-blocked) but signals to clients it's remote. Use this for online consultations, virtual coaching, or remote sessions.
How to set a service type: 1. Go to Dashboard → Services 2. Click the three-dot menu on a service → Edit (or create a new service) 3. Scroll to Service type and choose from the dropdown 4. Click Save
