Trust & verification

We want booking on Bontro to feel safe — and we want to be honest about exactly what our checks do and don't mean.

Phone verification

Pros confirm a real phone number with a one-time code before they can take bookings.

Government ID + selfie

Optional identity verification is powered by Stripe Identity — a pro submits a government-issued photo ID and a selfie, and Stripe checks that the face matches the document.

Secure payments

All card payments are processed by Stripe. Bontro never sees or stores your full card number.

Signed consent forms

Where a pro uses them, consent and waiver forms are signed digitally and saved as timestamped PDFs — so both sides have a record.

What the verified badge means

A verified badge means the pro completed identity verification with Stripe Identity — a government ID that matched a selfie. It confirms the person is who they say they are. It is not a rating, a review, or an endorsement of their work.

What verification does not mean

Verifying a pro's identity or phone number does not mean Bontro has background-checked them, confirmed they are licensed or insured, endorsed them, or guaranteed that they are safe or that their work will meet your expectations. Bontro is a booking and payments platform — the services are provided by independent pros, not by Bontro.

Please use your own judgment when choosing a pro: read reviews, ask questions, and confirm any licensing or insurance that matters to you directly with the provider.
