How to upgrade your plan
Upgrading, proration, and annual vs monthly billing.
Upgrading your plan is instant and handled through Stripe Checkout.
To upgrade: 1. Go to Settings -> Billing 2. Choose Monthly or Annual billing with the toggle at the top 3. Click "Upgrade to Growth" or "Upgrade to Business" 4. Enter your payment details in the Stripe Checkout window 5. Your new plan activates the moment payment succeeds
Annual vs monthly: Annual billing saves approximately 17%: - Growth: $19/mo monthly vs $15.83/mo on annual ($190/yr) - Business: $49/mo monthly vs $40.83/mo on annual ($490/yr)
You can switch between monthly and annual through the Stripe Customer Portal (Settings -> Billing -> Manage Billing).
Proration when upgrading mid-cycle: If you upgrade partway through a billing period, Stripe charges a prorated amount for the remaining days on the higher plan. You are not charged for the full month -- just the days left.
Downgrading: To downgrade or cancel, click "Manage Billing" in Settings -> Billing. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can: - Switch to a lower plan (takes effect at end of billing period) - Cancel your subscription - Update payment method - Download invoices
Gifted plans: Occasionally Bontro gifts plans to new users or beta testers. Gifted plans show an "Auto-downgrades on [date]" notice instead of the normal billing controls. When the gift period ends, the plan moves to Starter automatically.
Pro tip: If you are approaching 35 bookings for the month on Starter, upgrade to Growth before you hit the limit. The Growth plan pays for itself with about 2-3 extra clients per month.
