In-person Tap to Pay: use Stripe today, native Bontro coming soon

Native Bontro Tap to Pay (accepting contactless payments right inside the Bontro app) is coming in a future update, pending platform availability. It is not available yet.

In the meantime, you can accept in-person contactless payments today using Stripe's own Tap to Pay, through the Stripe Dashboard app with your existing connected Stripe account. This is Stripe's app, separate from the upcoming native Bontro experience.

How to set it up: 1. Download the Stripe Dashboard app on your iPhone or Android 2. Sign in with your Stripe account (the same one connected to Bontro) 3. Go to Payments → Create payment in the app 4. Enter the amount 5. Ask your customer to tap their card or phone to your device

How to accept contactless cards: 1. Ask your customer to hold their card horizontally at the top of your iPhone, over the contactless symbol 2. When you see the Done checkmark, the card read is complete and the transaction is being processed

How to accept Apple Pay and other digital wallets: 1. Ask your customer to hold their device at the top of your iPhone, near the contactless symbol 2. When you see the Done checkmark, the read is complete and the transaction is being processed

Payments that require a PIN: - Transactions that require PIN entry will automatically show a PIN entry screen when using Tap to Pay on iPhone - The customer can enter their PIN directly on your iPhone - For customers needing visual or other assistance, Accessibility Options are built into the PIN screen - To use them, tap Accessibility Options on the PIN screen

Device support: - Tap to Pay on iPhone is available on iPhone XS and newer - No additional card reader hardware is needed on supported devices - Tap to Pay on Android is available on NFC-enabled Android devices running Android 9+

Important notes: - Tap to Pay on iPhone requires a supported payment app and the latest version of iOS - Update iOS by going to Settings → General → Software Update → Download and Install - Some contactless cards may not be accepted by your payment app - Transaction limits may apply - Tap to Pay on iPhone is not available in all markets

Since your Bontro payments already go to your connected Stripe account, everything stays in one place: online bookings and in-person payments all appear in the same Stripe dashboard.
