Payment request links and tips
Send a payment link, how clients choose a tip, sharing via text or WhatsApp.
The payment request flow lets you charge clients after an appointment with a custom amount -- and gives them the option to add a tip.
When to use payment requests: - Client booked a free service and you want to collect payment after - Service had a deposit -- collect the remaining balance - Custom work where the final price wasn't set at booking time - Any time you prefer to charge after rather than before
How to send a payment request: 1. Go to Dashboard -> Appointments 2. Click the appointment you want to charge 3. Click "Send Payment Request" 4. Confirm or edit the amount (pre-filled from the service price or remaining balance) 5. Click Send
The client receives an email with a secure Stripe checkout link valid for 72 hours.
What clients see: A Stripe checkout page with: - The amount due - Tip options: 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%, custom amount, or no tip - Card entry fields - A clear summary of what they are paying for
Sharing the link directly: After generating the request, you also see a copy/share button. On mobile, the share button opens the native iOS/Android share sheet so you can send it via text message, WhatsApp, or any messaging app.
After payment: - The booking is automatically marked as paid - You receive a payment notification - The payment appears in your Payments dashboard - Tips appear as a separate line item alongside the base payment
Pro tip: Text the link directly rather than emailing it. Most clients open text messages within minutes. Say something like: "Hey [name], here's your payment link for today's session: [link]"
